  • Anna is looking forward to her senior year in Atlanta, where she has a great job, a loyal best friend, and a crush on the verge of becoming more. Which is why she is less than thrilled about being shipped off to boarding school in Paris—until she meets Étienne St. Claire: perfect, Parisian (and English and American, which makes for a swoon-worthy accent), and utterly irresistible. The only problem is that he's taken, and Anna might be, too, if anything comes of her almost-relationship back home.

As winter melts into spring, will a year of romantic near-misses end with the French kiss Anna—and readers—have long awaited?

I was looking forward to read this book since it has a really good rating at goodreads. Luckyly, I have found the e-book and I started to read it. At first, I didn't understand why people love this book. The storyline is not a special one. A new girl at boarding scool, meet her love interest who already has a girlfriend. Both of them hanging out and fighting about. The ending still don't make anyone surprised. But, the special about this book is how Stephanie Perkins tell the story.

The characters are alive, I even start to believe they are real. They have their own reflection and mind. They made their own storyline, not the author. Anna is a natural girl we could find in a real life. Even, we could meet her in our daily life, as our bestfriend, or even as ourselves. Etienne as a male love interest is also not as perfect as a guy who usually exist in a romance novel. He has weakness, but beyond it, he could be sweet and gentle and mature.

You would find there are time you can not put this book down. The conflict is so real, yet not too much. Stephanie Perkins just wrote the perfect composition of the YA novel. Plus, Paris as the setting of the story makes this book more beautiful.

I love the way they are fighting each other. How stupid they confess their own feeling. And, If I must mention it, both of them are definitely not a perfect teenagers, but they make this story perfect! One of my favorite quote is:

Because I was right. For the two of us, home isn't a place. It's a person.

Cover: I think, the cover is really eye-cathcing. I like the eiffel tower on the background. I feel a little disappoint for not seeing the Etienne face, but I know if they put him in the cover, maybe it will ruin my imagination about him. :)
