In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen-year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck... A sophisticated, layered, and heartachingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make—and the ultimate choice Mia commands.

Talk about death is always make me sick. I don't like either to talk or to think about it. In my own perception, death is all about how we must be responsible to all of our sins, and about choosing either heaven or hell. I don't like to think about it, so when I know that this book contains Death issue, I couldn't say whether I like it or not.
God gives Mia a chance, chance of which She must use it very well. If she choose to live, everything behind her have already gone; her mother, father, and brother. Otherwise, she could choose to die and left her Grandma, Grandpa, Kim--her bestfriend--and Adam, the one she fell of. In between, Mia flashback to her early life, when everything seems goes well, when she and her family live happily, when she got her first kiss, or when she was planning to go to Juilliard.

This novel is simple, yet deep and touching. The reader will know very well how Mia struggle in her own mind. We also get to know how priceless life is. Love story between Mia and Adam is also cute and strong, they seem too young to deeply in love, but that is the best part of this book. I like the character of Mia, she is strong, independent, and tough. I also like the way Adam treat Mia.
I just put 3 stars on it, because I think it is too simple. The main conflict only in the beginning part, but I find that it was too toneless on the rest of it, although I couldn't say that this book is not good. This book is good for those who search the meaning of life and death. Maybe, someday, me too.
